Bioland e. V. is a leading German organic farming association representing around 10,000 farms and food businesses in Germany and South Tyrol. It develops and enforces strict Bioland guidelines that go beyond legal organic standards, supports producers and market partners with certification, quality assurance, practice-oriented research, training and events, and promotes regional, seasonal and animal-welfare-oriented food systems. The organization also runs related initiatives including a foundation, naturschutz (conservation) services, publishing, and consumer-facing information and marketplaces.

📋 Description

• In the Organic Climate Net project you will coordinate a group of ten farms, primarily in North Hesse, which will intensely engage with climate-related topics over the next 1.5 years. • In the Climate Farm Demo project you will primarily support farms in Lower Saxony in sharing their knowledge about climate protection and climate adaptation through various event formats and in developing their professional skills. • Active knowledge transfer through peer advisory, technical articles and advisory materials • Planning and execution of demo events together with project management and participating farms • Development of tailored action plans within farm networks, and preparation and analysis of farm-specific climate balances • Supporting farms in implementing climate measures • Addressing arable-farming questions while also considering mixed farms • Close collaboration with German project partners and occasional exchange with European organizations • Regular exchange (often virtual) with internal climate and arable advisors to further develop methods, new approaches and ideas

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Agricultural Sciences (University/FH) or comparable qualification • Strong affinity for organic farming, ideally with practical experience and initial experience in agricultural advisory work • Strong interest in climate-resilient agricultural systems and enthusiasm for soil health topics • Interest in jointly developing climate-adapted farm concepts with farm managers and other stakeholders • Experience in collecting and analyzing climate balances is an advantage (project-specific training will be provided) • Enjoyment of organizing different event formats • Confident presence, good communication with farmers and convincing knowledge transfer in presentations and articles • Independent and structured working style • Language skills: German C1; English preferably B1 for international coordination • Willingness to travel for advisory work, projects and events – occasionally to other European countries • Driving license class B
