📋 Description

• Own software development across multiple products and teams • Plan realistic roadmaps, surface dependencies early, and reliably deliver on commitments • Manage engineering capacity together with Product & Growth in line with company and product priorities • Establish clear delivery routines and resolve cross-team blockers • Lead and develop Engineering Leads and key technical personnel • Further develop the organization, career paths, succession planning, hiring, and onboarding together with P&O and the CPTO • Define clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and guardrails for development teams • Establish binding standards for code quality, reviews, testing, documentation, and release readiness • Assess and prioritize technical optimization needs • Establish AI-assisted software development through standards, training, secure tool usage, and best practices • Collaborate with Product & Growth, IT Operations, Cyber Security, Customer Success, Partner Management, and other technical stakeholders • Manage trade-offs between product delivery, technical quality, and available capacity • Ensure transparent decision-making, clear handovers, and aligned release, rollback, and incident processes • Work with the Head of IT Operations to ensure stable, secure, and efficient software operations • Embed Secure Software Development and Security by Design throughout the development lifecycle • Ensure security requirements are addressed in architecture, implementation, reviews, testing, and dependency management • Ensure appropriate engineering resources are available to analyze and remediate security findings and incidents

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of experience leading software development organizations, ideally in a SaaS, platform, or e-commerce environment • Experience leading multiple engineering teams or Engineering Leads • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, data models, software delivery, and scalable development processes • Experience with legacy systems, modernization, and incremental architecture transformations • Experience with capacity planning, prioritization, automated testing, release readiness, and collaboration with CI/CD and platform teams • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development, modern coding assistants, or agentic engineering workflows • Experience with Secure Software Development, Security by Design, and addressing technical security findings • Understanding of deployability, observability, reliability, and operational readiness • Clear, direct, and accountable communication in German and English • Ability to translate technical decisions into business impact, risks, and trade-offs • Confident collaboration with Product & Growth, IT Operations, Cyber Security, executive leadership, and other stakeholders
