📋 Description

• Responsibility for software development across multiple products and teams • Realistic roadmap planning, making dependencies visible, and ensuring reliable commitments • Managing Engineering capacity together with Product & Growth • Establishing clear delivery routines and resolving cross-team blockers • Leading and developing Engineering Leads and key technical personnel • Further developing the organization, career paths, succession planning, hiring, and onboarding • Defining clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and decision-making guardrails • Developing binding standards for code quality, reviews, testing, documentation, and release readiness • Prioritizing technical optimization needs • Introducing AI-assisted software development, including standards, training, and secure tool usage • Collaborating with Product & Growth, IT Operations, Cyber Security, Customer Success, Partner Management, and other stakeholders • Coordinating release, rollback, and incident processes • Embedding Secure Software Development and Security by Design into the development lifecycle • Ensuring Engineering resources for security findings and incidents • Ensuring stable, secure, and efficient software delivery together with the Head of IT Operations

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of experience leading software development organizations, ideally in a SaaS, platform, or e-commerce environment • Experience leading multiple Engineering teams or Engineering Leads • Excellent understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, data models, software delivery, and scalable development processes • Experience with legacy systems, modernization, and incremental architectural transformations • Experience with capacity planning, prioritization, automated testing, release readiness, and collaboration with CI/CD and platform teams • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development, modern coding assistants, or agentic engineering workflows • Experience with Secure Software Development, Security by Design, and addressing technical security findings • Understanding of deployability, observability, reliability, and technical operational readiness • Clear, direct, and accountable communication skills in German and English • Ability to translate technical decisions into business impact, risks, and trade-offs
