📋 Description

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting records for a small portfolio of Australian clients • Process and review transactions using Xero and other cloud accounting systems • Perform bank, credit card and loan reconciliations • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable • Maintain general ledger accounts and review account coding and transaction accuracy • Prepare and process journals where required • Handle payroll processing and review • Reconcile payroll, superannuation and related balance sheet accounts • Assist with Australian GST and Business Activity Statement preparation • Prepare GST reconciliations • Assist with month-end and quarter-end accounting processes • Maintain supporting documents and accounting records • Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences and unusual transactions • Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping queries and outstanding information • Work with accountants and managers to keep client records accurate and current • Prepare year-end balance sheet reconciliations, annual workpapers and supporting schedules • Identify and prepare year-end adjusting journals for review • Assist with annual financial statements and draft accounts • Assist with individual and business income tax returns • Prepare supporting tax schedules and calculations • Gather and organise information for annual compliance work • Respond to review points from supervising accountants • Perform accounts preparation and taxation work under supervision and review of the Australian accounting team

🎯 Requirements

• Approximately 3 years or more of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience • Strong practical bookkeeping and reconciliation skills • Good understanding of double-entry accounting • Experience maintaining general ledger and balance sheet accounts • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable • Payroll experience • Strong Microsoft Excel skills • Experience using Xero or other cloud accounting software • Ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Good organisational and time-management skills • Ability to manage recurring deadlines • Ability to work independently while following established procedures • Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance where required • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline is preferred • Candidates with substantial practical bookkeeping and accounting experience will also be considered • Strong professional English and Mandarin communication skills, both written and spoken • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the Australian accounting team and clients • Ability to work agreed hours providing overlap with the Adelaide office • Must work from Malaysia • Must comply with confidentiality, privacy and information-security requirements • Must use computer equipment and systems provided or approved by the employer
