📋 Description

• Build and maintain backend services bridging external cloud ecosystems and the gridX platform • Integrate various cloud providers and external energy providers into the gridX ecosystem • Implement and maintain Go services that abstract provider-specific edge cases • Gather measurements and send control commands through standardized, reliable connections • Engineer architecture for a fast-scaling platform handling around 20.000 cloud-connected assets • Build cloud integrations linking assets to the platform, ingest asset data, and route real-time execution commands • Use AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows for code generation, review, specification analysis, and test creation • Implement new cloud integrations based on API documentation, OAuth specifications, and webhook contracts • Evolve the integration framework, refactor event-processing chains, migrate data stores, and shape abstractions • Debug distributed pipeline failures using structured logs, distributed traces, and metrics • Write tests covering provider API contracts, webhook edge cases, command delivery reliability, and distributed failure modes • Contribute to API specifications using TypeSpec/OpenAPI and protobuf/gRPC • Collaborate with cloud API teams, Product Owners, Platform Engineers, and Energy Domain Experts

🎯 Requirements

• Currently located in Germany • Junior Software Engineer on the Platforms Team • Pragmatism over perfection: ship working software, iterate, and avoid gold-plating • Product thinking and concern for what code enables for users and partners • Genuine interest in renewable energy hardware • End-to-end ownership, including deploying, operating, and monitoring services • Willingness to use Kubernetes and automated CI/CD pipelines • Experience/ability to work with Go, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, PostgreSQL, AWS, CI/CD, and Nix • Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts such as power, current, and phases is nice to have • Familiarity with running Go backend workloads in Kubernetes is nice to have • Experience with IoT or embedded-adjacent systems is nice to have • Contributions to open-source Go projects are nice to have • German language skills are nice to have; English is the working language
