📋 Description

• Take overall responsibility for legal affairs and the global/group-wide legal strategy of InkuPlay • Advise the Management Board, Executive Leadership Team, senior leaders and central functions on legal, regulatory and reputation-related opportunities and risks • Support corporate governance matters, shareholder relations, board/organ responsibilities, powers of attorney and internal decision-making processes • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess impacts and coordinate implementation • Establish legal risk management with escalation paths, responsibilities and reporting structures • Draft, review, negotiate and develop key agreements and create contract standards, playbooks and approval processes • Support complex, business-critical negotiations and make contractual obligations, liability risks, rights of use and regulatory requirements manageable • Provide legal support for new products, features and business models in cooperation with Product, Engineering, Data, Security and Operations • Embed Privacy by Design and Compliance by Design and assess data protection, information security, online platforms, consumer rights, youth protection, advertising and monetization models • Develop the legal framework for artificial intelligence and coordinate Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), international data transfers and data subject rights • Protect brands, technologies, content, designs, domains and other intangible assets; manage trademark filings, licensing models, open-source compliance and IP enforcement • Further develop the compliance management system, policies, trainings, reporting, investigation and escalation processes • Support financing rounds, corporate measures, restructurings, equity programs, joint ventures and potential M&A transactions • Manage litigation, complaints, cease-and-desist notices, regulatory proceedings and external law firms, and be responsible for the legal budget and make-or-buy strategy • Develop the organization, roles, processes and competency profile of the Legal function, lead team members or build an internal team • Drive Legal Operations, knowledge management, contract automation, Legal Tech and meaningful KPIs • In the first 6 to 12 months: assess risks, establish a Legal roadmap and reporting, accelerate processes and set standards for data protection, IP, product counseling, AI and compliance

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with above-average Staatsexamen (or equivalent qualification in a relevant jurisdiction) • Typically at least ten years of relevant professional experience, including several years in a senior in-house role • Experience in technology-driven, digital, gaming, media, entertainment, platform or high-growth companies • Broad expertise in commercial and contract law • Solid knowledge across multiple areas such as corporate law, data protection/privacy, IT law, consumer law, intellectual property, media law, platform regulation, AI regulation, compliance, employment law or M&A • Proven experience with complex international contracts and strategic partnerships • Understanding of the requirements of cross-border business models and ability to efficiently coordinate local external counsel • Fluent German and English (negotiation level) • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to make sound decisions under uncertainty • Ability to quantify or categorize risks and to justify recommendations clearly • Structured, pragmatic working style with strong execution and attention to detail • Confident presence with management, shareholders, authorities, business partners and external advisors • Ability to provide constructive challenge, independence and high personal integrity • Ability to build trusted relationships and to communicate complex content to different audiences • Leadership skills and willingness to develop people • Willingness to build structures in a dynamic environment • Knowledge or experience with digital platforms, games, in-app purchases, subscriptions, advertising, virtual goods, youth protection, community governance, content moderation, user-generated content, AI governance, open-source software, Legal Operations, Contract Lifecycle Management, fundraising rounds, international expansion or M&A is particularly welcome • Compelling application including CV, relevant certificates, possible start date, salary expectation and a short statement of personal suitability
