📋 Description

• Overall responsibility for legal matters and the global/group-wide legal strategy of InkuPlay • Advise the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on legal, regulatory and reputational opportunities and risks • Support corporate governance, shareholder matters, executive duties, powers of attorney and internal decision-making processes • Monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments and coordinate their implementation • Establish legal risk management with escalation paths, responsibilities, reporting and regular legal risk reports • Draft, review, negotiate and develop key contracts and strategic partnerships • Develop contract standards, playbooks, approval processes and negotiation guidelines • Support complex and business-critical negotiations • Advise Product, Engineering, Data, Security and Operations on products, technology, data protection, information security, platforms, consumer protection, youth protection, advertising and monetization • Develop a legal framework for artificial intelligence • Coordinate Data Protection Impact Assessments, international data transfers, data processing agreements and data subject rights • Protect and manage trademarks, technologies, content, designs, domains and other intangible assets • Manage trademark filings, licensing models, open-source compliance as well as enforcement and defense of IP rights • Evolve the compliance management system and take responsibility for policies, investigations, reporting and escalation processes • Support financing rounds, corporate actions, restructurings, equity programs, joint ventures and potential M&A transactions • Coordinate legal due diligence, transaction documentation, signing, closing and post-merger integration • Assess and manage litigation, complaints, cease-and-desist notices, regulatory proceedings and other disputes • Select and manage external law firms and specialist advisors and own the legal budget and make-or-buy strategy • Develop the organization, roles, processes and competency profile of the legal function • Lead existing team members or gradually build an internal team • Establish KPIs and drive Legal Operations, knowledge management, contract automation and Legal Tech

🎯 Requirements

• Fully qualified lawyer with above-average state examinations or equivalent qualification in a relevant jurisdiction • Typically at least ten years of relevant professional experience, including several years in a senior in-house role • Experience in technology-driven, digital, gaming, media, entertainment, platform or high-growth companies • Broad expertise in commercial and contract law • Solid knowledge in multiple areas such as corporate law, data protection, IT law, consumer law, intellectual property, media law, platform regulation, AI regulation, compliance, employment law or M&A • Proven track record of negotiating complex international contracts and strategic partnerships • Familiarity with cross-border business models and ability to efficiently coordinate local external counsel • Fluent communication skills in German and English • Strong commercial awareness and ability to make robust decisions under uncertainty • Ability to clearly quantify or categorize risks and to explain recommendations in an understandable way • Structured, pragmatic working style with strong execution skills and attention to detail • Confident demeanor in dealings with management, shareholders, authorities, business partners and external advisors • Capacity for constructive dissent, independence and high personal integrity • Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate complex matters appropriately for different audiences • Leadership skills and willingness to develop people • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with partially newly established structures • Particularly welcome: experience with digital platforms, games, in-app purchases, subscriptions, advertising, virtual goods, youth protection, community governance, content moderation, user-generated content, AI governance, open-source software, data-driven products, fundraising rounds, international expansion, M&A, legal/compliance build-out, Legal Operations and contract lifecycle management
