• Responsible for managing the relationship and business with designated retailers and distributors in the region • Growing both sales volume and gross margin contribution of FGI brands • Make targeted grower and dairy sales calls through and with channel partners • Deliver industry best customer experience through well planned, meaningful face-to-face interaction with target accounts, growers, and dairies • Market and position FGI’s product ladder to increase trait conversion and business share • Train designated accounts to position and sell FGI branded alfalfa seed and traits • Manage relationships with dealers & distributors to achieve company goal • Manage customer orders, replants, stewardship/GPOS data, program reconciliation • Resolve conflicts between dealers promptly and equitably • Provide regional agronomic support • Understand and communicate FGI value proposition, pricing, and programs to designated dealers • Develop Territory Plans and Grower and Dairy Targets (on-farm calls)
• Bachelor’s degree; preferably Crop Science or related • 5+ years successful sales experience in seed or crop inputs or marketing with customer contact; or equivalent work experience (10+ years) • Proven ability to interact well with customers, suppliers, employees, and management of all levels • Desire and know-how to make grower calls with customer sales staff and coach successfully to sell FGI products • Ability to learn FGI alfalfa features and benefits, and use knowledge to provide sales/marketing support and training • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SalesForce.com • Proven ability to solve and resolve issues quickly and effectively • Ability to create and present interesting, informative, and educational product presentations • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
