âą Recruit qualified ASL interpreters on a national level. âą Participate in on call manager rotation. âą Screen contract interpreter candidates for skills, versatility, knowledge of deaf-culture. âą Negotiate appropriate compensation agreements. âą Support onsite scheduling team by working help desk requests for hard-to-fill assignments. âą Continually monitor status of sign language requests. âą Assess skills & effectiveness of contract interpreters and staff. âą Attend social & cultural events in the deaf community to promote our services. âą Attend state & regional interpreting conventions, trainings and meetings. âą Meet face to face with staff interpreters for mentoring and interpreting advice. âą Observe staff & contract interpreters & complete observation reports. âą Coordinate trainings for staff & contract ASL interpreters. âą Address issues reported by customers, deaf consumers or interpreters.
âą Bachelor's Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics are required. âą Ability to interpret American Sign Language is preferred.
