📋 Description

• Promote, manage, and support legal compliance at a regional level and support the Head of Restaurant Compliance nationally • Shape and influence Nando’s safety culture • Manage implementation of national safety initiatives across the region • Address regional business challenges and provide specialist safety knowledge • Support the region in staying within legal and policy guidelines • Work with MDs to ensure systems and processes align with Nando’s Safety/QA policies • Identify operational non-compliance requiring company-wide action • Review fire, health and safety, and food hygiene practices and procedures • Promote best practice and improve processes and procedures • Promote a sustainable safety culture • Identify matters for insurance escalation and liaise with the press office on potential brand-reputation issues • Participate in business meetings, report safety/QA performance, and coordinate actions • Resolve outstanding compliance-summary items with MDs • Manage pest-control interfaces and monitor waste-disposal and pest-control service levels • Liaise with licensing lawyers regarding Premises Licenses and DPS changes • Coordinate with external service providers on regional safety matters • Maintain accurate records of AFP incidents, restaurant visits, licensing arrangements, EHO issues, and routine H&S inspections • Ensure new restaurants receive appropriate safety support contracts and materials • Resolve legal contraventions identified by EHOs • Visit restaurants to advise and coach Patraos and managers on operational improvements and audit performance • Investigate alleged food-poisoning incidents and advise Customer Experience colleagues on closure • Rapidly visit restaurants after RIDDOR-reportable accidents, robberies, security incidents, and significant hygiene/H&S complaints • Follow up on external fire and H&S risk assessments • Deputise for safety-team members and support team members with specialised knowledge

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years’ experience in a comparable role • Excellent operational knowledge and credibility to recommend and influence realistic safety solutions • Ability to build rapport at all organisational levels • Ability to influence at varied levels and present confidently to different audiences • Coaching and mentoring skills • Analytical problem-solving and sound judgement • Ability to take responsibility for decisions and communicate them promptly and structurally • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks • Ability to work well under pressure, with interpersonal sensitivity and warmth • Ability to deliver specific safety training to stakeholders • Level 4 food hygiene qualification • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent • Passport and driving licence required
