• Jointly lead the overall success of Nature for Water Facility place-based projects with a Science Manager • Support establishment and delivery of watershed investment programs across varied geographic contexts • Determine project scope • Mobilize and manage multidisciplinary internal and external expert teams against workplans and timelines • Identify and engage key actors and diverse stakeholders • Develop financial and economic appraisals, including financial modeling, and communicate results to varied audiences and payers • Synthesize research and analysis combining technical, social, environmental, institutional, financial, and economic elements • Assess ecosystem services benefits and conduct costing of watershed investment programs using Nature-based Solutions to drive water security outcomes • Present outputs in stakeholder and client meetings, publications, and conferences • Collaborate with knowledge management staff on thought leadership publications • Provide mentorship, guidance, and advisory support to project staff and direct reports • Travel domestically and/or internationally approximately 15%
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, political science, international development, or related field and at least 6 years of professional experience, or equivalent combination • Experience leading complex projects or strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment • Background in commercial evaluation of business models/project structuring • Financial modeling capabilities • Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance of teams and/or direct reports • Professional language competency in English required, both oral and written • 7+ years of professional experience in project finance, capital markets, or management consultancy • Graduate degree in an appropriate field is desired • Proficiencies in additional languages, especially Swahili, French, and Portuguese, are desired • Experience in Nature-based Solutions project design and implementation is desired • Ability to work independently and remotely and deliver tasks at the expected quality level • Ability to analyze and synthesize technical information across disciplines • Successful applicant must meet The Nature Conservancy's background screening requirements
