📋 Description

• Set and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with company goals, product vision, and roadmap. • Proven depth in leading software engineering and delivery functions. • Lead, mentor, and manage four direct reports: Director of Engineering, Director of Quality Assurance, Director of IT/Cybersecurity, and Director of Development Operations. • Build and sustain a high-performing, remote-first engineering culture. • Establish clear technical standards, architectural principles, and best practices across teams. • Drive deliberate improvement in delivery frequency through operational process improvements. • Provide executive-level technical leadership for a fullstack platform. • Oversee system architecture decisions to ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability. • Drive continuous improvement of a complex, production-grade CI/CD pipeline. • Enable technical execution of the data warehouse and BI initiative.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including significant leadership experience at the director or VP level. • Proven experience leading teams building and operating large-scale, cloud-based software platforms. • Deep familiarity with microservices architectures, APIs (GraphQL and REST), and system integrations. • Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure and modern CI/CD practices. • Experience managing engineering leaders (directors and/or senior managers). • Experience owning or significantly influencing technology budgets. • Track record of delivering complex software systems in a fast-paced environment. • Preferred Experience in ed-tech or another mission-driven, user-impact-focused domain. • Hands-on background in software engineering. • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and business intelligence tools. • Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance considerations in education. • Experience leading distributed, remote-first teams with offshore or outsourced contributors. • Experience scaling engineering organizations and platforms through periods of growth.
