📋 Description

• Prepare Australian income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, companies and trusts • Prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers • Review bookkeeping files, identify issues and make corrections where required • Prepare EOFY adjustments, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, loan reconciliations and year-end journals • Assist with company tax matters, including franking accounts, dividends and related adjustments • Review balance-sheet accounts and investigate unreconciled or unusual balances • Prepare tax reconciliations between accounting profit and taxable income • Prepare complete client files for review and lodgement • Manage assigned client work and follow tasks through to completion • Escalate tax, accounting or compliance matters requiring further review • Work with an established Australian accounting practice while employed by Offshore 24/7 under a local Philippine employment contract

🎯 Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on experience working under Australian tax and accounting requirements • Experience preparing Australian income tax returns and financial statements • Experience with Australian bookkeeping and EOFY accounting work • Hands-on experience across one or more Australian entity types, including individuals, sole traders, companies or trusts • Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks • Good understanding of balance-sheet reconciliations and year-end adjustments • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify issues requiring further review • Ability to manage assigned work and meet deadlines in a remote working environment • Clear written and spoken English • Two or more years of Australian accounting or public-practice experience (highly regarded) • Experience preparing company and trust tax returns (highly regarded) • Experience with company tax, franking accounts and dividends (highly regarded) • Experience reconciling accounting profit to taxable income (highly regarded) • Experience with Australian tax-preparation or lodgement software (highly regarded)
