📋 Description

• Collaborate in a product trio of product management, engineering, and design to understand users' needs and use cases • Guide the UI/UX process from early discovery through polished implementation • Conduct exploratory user research and usability testing • Translate research insights into clear concepts • Design high-fidelity mockups in Figma • Iterate on ideas based on feedback from users, engineers, product, and QA • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs translate well into implementation • Maintain and evolve the design system by creating and documenting components and patterns • Update and redesign existing software areas needing improvement • Balance ideal UX with technical constraints, product strategy, and delivery timelines • Contribute ideas to improve the overall OpenProject experience

🎯 Requirements

• Solid UI/UX design experience working on complex digital products • Experience conducting user research and usability testing • Strong skills in developing concepts, design iterations, and high-fidelity mockups in Figma • Experience collaborating closely within a cross-functional product team (engineering, product management, QA, marketing and sales) • Experience maintaining or contributing to a design system • Ability to balance ideal UX, technical realities and practical delivery • Pragmatic mindset and habit of improving things iteratively • Thoughtful, creative, curious, and communicative team player • Portfolio showcasing products worked on • Non-AI generated CV and cover letter explaining motivation • Experience with open-source projects and familiarity with distributed Git-based version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab are a plus but not required
