📋 Description

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for the firm, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries • Perform bank and trust account reconciliations on a regular basis • Maintain compliant law firm trust accounting records in line with NSW legal trust account regulations • Process billing, disbursements, and client invoicing accurately and on time • Maintain accurate financial records in Xero • Support preparation of BAS, payroll, and other statutory obligations • Prepare monthly financial reports for internal review • Liaise with the supervising solicitor and external accountant when clarification is needed • Maintain clean, organised, and audit-ready financial records at all times • Proactively flag discrepancies, delays, or compliance risks without waiting to be chased

🎯 Requirements

• CPA qualification (or equivalent recognised accounting certification) required • Proficiency in Xero is required • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably within a professional services or legal environment • Experience with law firm trust accounting is highly valued • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills • Strong working knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, and general compliance requirements • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial records • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently, with minimal supervision • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
