📋 Description

• Provide disciplinary and functional leadership for the national Medical Affairs Scientist Field Vaccines team. • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, and succession planning. • Co-develop the Medical Plan with the Senior Medical Director. • Ensure the prioritized, consistent, and measurable execution of the medical strategy. • Translate the medical strategy into team objectives and regional and national activities. • Coach, provide feedback to, mentor, and actively develop team members. • Prioritize and allocate tasks, time, and resources. • Plan, administer, and monitor team and project budgets. • Use medical and scientific insights from the field to further develop the Medical Plan, evidence strategy, and vaccine strategies. • Lead strategically relevant national medical projects and workstreams. • Build and maintain relationships with external infectious disease and vaccinology experts, institutions, professional societies, and research groups. • Ensure timely, accurate, and balanced medical and scientific communication. • Strategically plan and ensure the quality of advisory boards, roundtables, congress symposia, and other scientific formats. • Promote the documentation of relevant insights in OneMed and the use of centralized knowledge pools. • Ensure professional exchange and promote product-independent expertise. • Collaborate with Medical, Commercial, Market Access/Health & Value, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Pharmacovigilance, and People Experience teams.

🎯 Requirements

• University degree in human medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, or natural sciences (qualified under Section 75 of the German Medicines Act), ideally with a doctoral degree. • Several years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs or the pharmaceutical industry, with in-depth experience in vaccines or infectious diseases. • Demonstrated experience in disciplinary or comparable functional leadership, employee development, and team motivation. • Deep medical and pharmaceutical expertise, including scientific methodology, interpretation of clinical studies, and experience developing Medical Plans. • Fluent German at C1 level or higher and very good English skills. • Class B driver's license. • Excellent project, portfolio, resource, and budget management skills. • Experience working in matrix organizations and cross-functional collaboration. • Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, coaching, and influencing skills. • Experience with digital communication and collaboration tools as well as hybrid ways of working. • In-depth understanding of AI and its potential to optimize processes and management tasks. • Willingness to comply with Medical Compliance and pharmacovigilance requirements.
