📋 Description

• Own the recruiting process from workforce planning and job description creation through sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding • Work closely with department heads and coordinate external recruiters as needed • Ensure a clear, thoughtful, and responsive candidate experience while supporting employer branding • Plan headcount, forecast personnel costs, and recommend priorities • Develop and maintain HR policies and internal controls • Oversee the HRIS, payroll processes, personnel files, and employment contracts • Support team members outside Germany and coordinate EOR providers, local payroll partners, and legal advisors • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee relations • Develop salary benchmarking, compensation structures, compensation reviews, and benefits • Manage the administration, documentation, and communication of the virtual employee equity program • Support Operations with development programs by providing HR expertise • Implement practical people processes, templates, and reporting • Report directly to the Co-CEO and work closely with Operations, Finance, department heads, and the founders

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related field • Proven experience across the full recruiting process, including active sourcing, candidate assessment, and successfully closing hires • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken • Strong knowledge of German employment law, HR compliance, and personnel administration • Experience with HRIS, contracts, payroll coordination, and personnel files • Structured and reliable working style • Sound judgment, discretion, and strong advisory skills when handling sensitive people matters • Based in Germany; Berlin preferred • Experience in a start-up or scale-up is a plus • Experience with international employment arrangements, employer-of-record providers, or multi-country payroll is a plus • Experience with Personio or comparable HRIS and applicant tracking systems, compensation benchmarking, benefits administration, or employee equity programs is a plus
