📋 Description

• Design and build scalable, distributed solutions that improve Red Hat engineers' productivity and efficiency • Engage with open source communities to build consensus and implement features in shared projects • Collaborate with Red Hat engineers to identify productivity and efficiency gaps addressed by tooling • Investigate, communicate, and troubleshoot escalated engineering-team issues • Maintain development, staging, and production environments • Maintain monitoring and alerting systems • Participate in an on-call rotation during working hours • Learn new technologies and maintain awareness of current technologies • Perform code reviews for features and bug fixes • Mentor other engineers and lead them in building excellent services

🎯 Requirements

• Engineering degree or higher in computer science or a related field, or equivalent qualification • Five years or more of experience in software development • Proficiency with object-oriented and functional programming languages • Good written and verbal communication skills for distributed-team collaboration • Knowledge of Git, GitHub, JIRA, Red Hat OpenShift, Golang, and Prow • Familiarity with cloud-native system design and development • Experience with AI-driven software development • Solid experience with Linux, cloud computing (AWS, GCP), distributed systems, high availability, and build tools • Willingness to learn the listed technologies • Comfort using AWS or GCP consoles • Understanding of basic cloud computing • Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift container technologies • Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure • Preferred: ability to work in a globally distributed team • Preferred: understanding of Continuous Integration processes
