📋 Description

• Partner with the Engineering Team Lead and Staff Engineers on architecture, design quality, and technical direction • Form independent technical opinions and participate as a peer in design reviews • Prototype and write code to de-risk ideas, answer open questions, and ship small pieces • Own products where APIs are the product surface, including contracts, versioning, backwards compatibility, and developer experience • Observe manual workflows with specialists and operations teams and prioritize based on actual pain points • Fix underlying system causes rather than relying on reconciliation reports • Own product adoption and hypercare after delivery • Work with payroll and tax experts on research and requirements • Convene across teams and onboard others into context • Document decisions and reasoning in specs, Looms, and proposals • Own the product area end to end, including the customer and internal-team experience

🎯 Requirements

• Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code is required • Ability to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code/prototypes • Experience as a product manager in a high-growth company • Experience working in payroll, HR, benefits, fintech, or similar • Strong strategic and tactical product judgment • Demonstrable, self-driven results that moved a product forward • Strong product design (UX) sense • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills across departments • Business-level proficiency writing and speaking English • Experience working remotely is a bonus
