• Provide advanced analysis and administration of compensation programs supporting SGS North America's compensation strategy • Ensure compliance, external competitiveness, and internal equity of compensation programs in Canada and the United States • Ensure compensation programs align with FLSA, pay equity laws, transparency regulations, and minimum wage requirements • Support pay equity and pay transparency reporting in Canada • Lead the annual merit cycle, including salary budget market research, system preparations, data audits, training material development, and training HR community and managers • Partner with the Head of Total Rewards and Finance team on annual short-term incentive payouts and monthly accruals • Perform timely reporting, HR data collection, and information audits • Manage variable compensation programs through calculation files, data audits, and coordination of payments with payroll • Lead job description harmonization by partnering with business and HR partners • Create standardized job descriptions for use across business lines • Perform job evaluations as required • Develop, maintain, and enhance compensation models, dashboards, and reports using advanced Excel skills • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, investigate inconsistencies, and improve compensation data • Participate in salary survey submissions and data analysis • Conduct ad-hoc analyses, compensation reviews, new-hire or internal-offer approvals, and off-cycle adjustments • Advise leaders and HR professionals on interpretation and administration of compensation programs
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field • Minimum 7 yrs of hands-on compensation experience supporting Canadian and US compensation programs in large corporate environment • Expert level proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, lookups, pivot tables, and data modeling • Professional compensation certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) strongly preferred • Professional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to interpret compensation data, cost modeling, and financial impacts • Ability to analyze and resolve complex, non-routine compensation scenarios requiring independent judgement • Advanced use of HR systems, MS Office applications, especially Excel, and reporting tools • Strong knowledge of, interpretation and application of compensation legislation in both Canada and the US • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment • Deep understanding of compensation principles, job evaluation methodologies, market pricing techniques, and pay equity best practices
