📋 Description

• Develop and advance the AI assistant for the Karavela platform, integrating it with internal engineering workflows • Orchestrate specialist agents and hundreds of MCP tools at scale, managing cost, latency, context, and tokens • Implement real-time response streaming via SSE, including turn reconciliation, a watchdog, and per-conversation state isolation • Integrate the AI with approvals, deployment, and provisioning in a secure and auditable manner • Simplify complex technical operations for citizen developers while keeping users in control • Build and operate robust backends in Node/TypeScript, handling concurrency, Kafka eventing, Postgres, and memory usage under load • Work on distributed systems, asynchronous processes, and integrations with multiple services and APIs • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary squad with autonomy and ownership over the solutions delivered

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer • Strong command of TypeScript/Node.js for backend development and React/TypeScript for frontend development • Experience with distributed systems, orchestration of asynchronous processes, and integration with multiple services/APIs • Ability to learn and adapt to stacks such as Temporal, Golang, Crossplane, and Backstage • Comfort working with scale, concurrency, and reliability in mission-critical systems • Knowledge or experience with Kafka events, Postgres, and real-time streaming • Platform mindset and interest in building tools that abstract complexity for other engineering teams • Familiarity with generative AI, conversational agents, or MCP is a plus but not required • Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary squad
