📋 Description

• Manage the deliveries, performance, and growth of each engineer on your team. • Support engineers in their career progression, helping them strengthen both technical and soft skills. • Conduct regular feedback cycles, establish growth plans, and recognize outstanding contributions. Use our structured career-development framework to set clear expectations and help each engineer advance along our engineering ladder. • Build and maintain a strong, collaborative team culture focused on excellence, ownership, and growth. • Lead and guide the development of new features, optimizing for cost-efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. • Oversee technical decisions, ensuring architecture and implementation align with company standards and long-term goals. • Partner with Senior and Staff Engineers to identify and implement technical improvements. • Help administer and maintain your team’s tech infrastructure ensuring healthy uptime, reliability, and performance. • Champion best practices for testing, deployment, and developer experience (DevX). • Establish engineering standards and best practices that scale beyond your team, raising quality and consistency across the organization. • Own the delivery of your team’s projects with clear goals, accountability, and reliable execution. • Partner with Product and Design to scope, prioritize, and plan initiatives. • Monitor processes across the full product lifecycle, from discovery to launch. • Identify bottlenecks, improve workflows, and drive initiatives that increase team velocity and product quality. • Translate technical trade-offs into clear decisions with Product, Design, and stakeholders. • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs effectively to keep the organization aligned. • Partner with leadership on planning, resourcing, and technical direction. • Sample Projects: In your first 90 days, assess how the team works and establish the rituals, feedback loops, and delivery practices that help it ship reliably and improve. Lead a cross-functional effort to improve Core Web Vitals and API response times, from instrumentation through the work to hit new targets. Pilot and roll out AI tooling across your squad’s development lifecycle — prototyping, code review, testing, and documentation — with clear guardrails for data protection and output validation, and measure the impact on speed and quality. Audit your team’s test coverage and deployment pipeline, then champion improvements that raise coverage, reduce failed deploys, and improve developer experience.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent • 3+ years leading and managing engineers • Professional English for spoken and written communication • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex technical projects from planning through execution. • Track record of building high-performance teams • Proficiency in one or more of our core technology stack — Ruby on Rails, React, Flutter • Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and modern development practices. • Professional experience with relational databases. • Experience balancing product impact with technical excellence and maintainability. • Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to coach and inspire. • Comfort using AI tools across the development lifecycle to improve speed and quality.
