📋 Description

• Provide high quality and cost-effective legal defense for insureds involved in bodily injury claims • Actively participate in a litigation team for proper handling and legal strategy • Independently conduct trials, depositions, mediations and all legal activities required to resolve cases • Provide timely review and recommendations regarding liability and damage issues • Work with clients and third parties to resolve legal issues • Assist in training and development of legal colleagues and claims professionals • Assist in continuous improvement of staff counsel operations and efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school • Active license to practice law in California required • 5+ years of experience practices law with substantial experience in defending bodily injury claims • Trial experience required • Prior in-house Property & Casualty Insurance experience preferred • Experience in paperless file environment and Westlaw research preferred • Superior legal acumen • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), legal document management software, Westlaw/Lexis • Ability and desire to communicate with UFG about improving processes for the representation of insureds.
