📋 Description

• Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for 1Password’s analytics engineering function • Lead core data models, semantic layers, BI tooling, and pipeline infrastructure • Hire, manage, and develop analytics engineers • Establish career ladders, leveling expectations, and performance practices • Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment, and data quality • Review complex dbt models and optimize SQL • Help troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues • Serve as a senior technical partner on data modeling and metric governance • Ensure metric definitions are consistent, trusted, and well documented • Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM leaders • Turn business needs into a prioritized roadmap • Build governed, reliable data foundations supporting company-wide decision-making, AI initiatives, and Generative BI experiences • Report to the VP, Data Analytics

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture • Experience leading and developing teams • Strong SQL and dbt experience • Advanced data modeling, incremental processing, testing, documentation, and multi-environment deployment experience • Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, such as Kimball or star schema approaches • Experience applying dimensional modeling in complex B2B SaaS environments • Experience with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift • Experience making decisions related to warehouse performance, cost, and scale • Experience establishing semantic layer strategies and trusted metric definitions across an organization • Ability to translate complex business priorities into a clear data platform roadmap • Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders • Preferred: CI/CD, orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect, and AI-assisted analytics engineering workflows • Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada; no work authorization, relocation assistance, or sponsorship/transferring of a visa offered • Successful applicants must complete a background check
