📋 Description

• Investigate and manage low-complexity salvage claims • Identify recovery opportunities and ensure accurate claim resolution • Review assigned claims and contact insureds and affected parties • Set expectations and initiate documentation in the claim handling system • Analyze policy coverage, provisions, benefits, exclusions, and applicability to reported losses • Create sub-claims or refer complex claims to management or appropriate claim handlers • Investigate claim facts and determine payment limits, exclusions, and recovery potential • Review damages and apply state law and other claim-related factors • Evaluate loss value and approve payments to appropriate parties • Refer files to Underwriting, Recovery Units, or Claims Special Investigation Unit as needed • Document and code claim files and complete claim closure activities • Identify liable parties and determine insurance status • Refer files to collection agencies and prepare proofs • Answer inquiry calls, gather additional proofs, and complete investigations • Obtain information from claim-related systems • Work with collection vendors to approve requests to file suit • Complete receipt and file closure processes, ensuring funds are returned and accounted for • Reimburse deductibles and prepare mini tort proofs when applicable • Perform simple recovery tasks involving auto collision, home, or PIP/medical-pay assignments • Work remotely from a home office for day-to-day operations, with occasional travel for meetings, collaboration, or team-building activities

🎯 Requirements

• Complete ACG Claim Representative Training Program or demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experience • Must attain all required State Adjuster licenses for applicable states within 60 days after completing licensing coursework • Valid driver's license required if primary responsibilities involve in-person inspections or frequent in-person meetings • Experience negotiating claim settlements • Experience securing and evaluating evidence • Experience preparing manual and electronic estimates • Experience with subrogation claims • Basic knowledge of the Essential Insurance Act (Michigan) • Basic knowledge of the Fair Trade Practices Act as it relates to claims • Knowledge of subrogation procedures and processes • Knowledge of intercompany arbitration • Ability to follow and apply ACG Claim policies, procedures, and guidelines • Ability to work within assigned ACG Claim systems and basic PC software • Ability to perform basic claim file reviews and investigations • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Customer service skills and ability to maintain relationships with insureds/claimants • Problem-solving and sound decision-making skills • Ability to prioritize claim-related functions • Ability to process time-sensitive data from multiple sources • Ability to manage time, organize, and plan workload • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret subrogation laws in various states • Ability to travel outside assigned territory, potentially overnight • Ability to relocate and work evenings or weekends • Preferred: associate degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or related field, or equivalent related work experience • Preferred: completion of Insurance Institute of America's General Insurance Program, Associate in Claims, Associate in Management, or equivalent • Preferred: CPCU coursework or designation • Preferred: CCC training • Preferred: six months of experience with claim settlements, evidence evaluation, estimates, communication, or call center/queue calling
