• Lead a region team promoting AbbVie's Sustained Release glaucoma implant portfolio, including Xen and Durysta • Manage district sales results against goals and operate within expense guidelines • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and manage performance for the assigned district • Coach and counsel team members to develop selling and account management skills • Oversee development and succession planning • Lead sales direction across the region and execute marketing plans • Provide feedback to marketing on plan implementation • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with established and emerging physicians, practices, and accounts • Implement account management plans and allocate resources with key accounts • Manage customer relationship issues and opportunities • Understand the local, regional, and national marketplace • Lead and motivate the team to achieve district goals and objectives • Provide leadership in needs-based account selling, KOL promotional programs, and key account management • Support short- and long-term franchise strategy, tactical execution, promotional initiatives, and business goals • Develop and implement improved district procedures and practices
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field • MBA preferred • Sales experience • Minimum 5–7 years of Healthcare/Pharmaceutical, buy and bill, or device experience • Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills • Ability to articulate the scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas • Proven ability to deliver candid, effective feedback and efficiently manage performance • Ability to develop talent for promotional opportunities • Ability to create a culture of winning and full team engagement • Ability to model AbbVie's Ways of Working • Ability to collaborate and influence without authority across organizations • Valid driver's license • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements • Ability to travel a minimum of 75% to cover the territory, including overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings • Ability to drive a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment • Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain facility and organization access in the assigned territory • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required HCIR credentials
