📋 Description

• Serve as an experienced individual contributor within a software engineering team • Support scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal leadership oversight • Contribute to the program’s development strategy and long-term goals • Serve as the discipline's primary lead when working with stakeholders • Propose and evaluate approaches to technical and process problems • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for application code-base contributions • Coordinate integration with adjacent technical systems and ecosystems • Diagnose and resolve system issues, using incidents to inform education and system improvements • Mentor and assist junior engineers • Communicate technical issues and developments to team members and clients • Participate in technical interviews • Lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects • Present design documents and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of professional software engineering experience • Relevant professional experience may be substituted for education where permitted • Expert-level knowledge in at least one technical area: frontend engineering (Angular, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) or backend engineering (Python, Java 21, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch) • Expert-level knowledge with Spring Boot 4 framework • Strong working knowledge of containerized microservices and AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch) • Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform • Experience building and consuming versioned RESTful APIs with published OpenAPI specifications • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and version control via Git • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and their application to frontend or backend development • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical decisions for non-technical audiences including federal agency stakeholders • Prior experience with federal agency digital services or government contracting environments (preferred) • Familiarity with event-driven architectures using AWS SNS/SQS and Lambda/Step Functions (preferred) • Experience with consumer-driven contract testing using Pact or API contract governance across microservices (preferred) • Experience with Maven, POM management, or Poetry (preferred) • Exposure to SAFe or scaled Agile delivery frameworks including PI planning and ART coordination (preferred)
