📋 Description

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team • Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and support delivery • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle • Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on risk and trade-off decisions • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues • Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts • Set or improve code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and tech talks • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example • Build and maintain a reliable, scalable, self-serve cloud compute platform for critical batch workloads supporting ML, Product, and Financial Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale • Experience with backend programming languages such as Python or Kotlin • Track record developing highly available distributed systems • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes • Experience building and managing workflow orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, or Luigi • Experience or working knowledge scaling Spark or Flink for extremely large-scale datasets on Kubernetes • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible designs • Ability to write high-quality, understandable, reusable code • Proficiency making significant changes in large codebases safely • Experience developing tools and practices for safe large-scale codebase changes • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
