📋 Description

• Build and scale data platforms and services processing loan originations in real time • Deliver accurate reporting to Affirm and its financial partners • Own and deliver quarterly team goals • Lead engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and decision-making • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues • Create and monitor operational metrics • Escalate issues and support on-call and operational efforts • Set and improve code review and design standards • Advocate for engineering standards through writing and tech talks • Provide feedback and guidance to develop team talent

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale • Experience using languages like Python or Kotlin • Track record developing highly available distributed systems • Experience with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes • Deep expertise designing and operating scalable backend data pipelines and batch processing systems • Experience using Spark, Airflow, or similar distributed frameworks • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components • Ability to write high-quality, understandable code • Proficiency making significant changes in a large code base safely • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
