📋 Description

• Work directly with local constituents within an assigned geographic area • Serve on the Chapter Operations Team • Drive the organization's National Strategic initiatives by empowering and leading key local volunteers • Increase revenue, strengthen the volunteer base, and maximize program impact within assigned chapter service areas • Implement AFSP's strategic direction and meet National Strategic Plan goals • Communicate National policies, procedures, and strategy to key volunteers • Drive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts • Travel throughout the service area and attend work meetings and events • Work with the Division VP and Development Team to grow revenue, focusing on Community Walks, Campus Walks, and Construction Hikes for Hope • Work with the National Development Team to cultivate individual, corporate, and major gifts • Establish fundraising goals and monitor expenses and budgets • Implement advocacy, research, survivor, educational, media, and public-awareness programs • Communicate AFSP's impact to community leaders and organizations • Manage volunteer recruitment and engagement • Supervise, train, coach, and mentor volunteer leaders • Cultivate relationships with Chapter Boards and Board Chairs • Keep current with AFSP National initiatives and communicate them to volunteers • Ensure chapter compliance with revenue, policies, leadership, board, business plan, budget, and volunteer requirements • Manage fiscal responsibilities, vendors, cash handling, expenses, accounts payable, and receivables

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree • Proven track record showing substantial growth generating revenue for nonprofit organizations through Peer 2 Peer fundraising events • Minimum 3 years professional experience working in non-profit arena in special event fundraising, preferably in P2P/Community Fundraising • A minimum of 3 years working as staff directly with nonprofit volunteer Boards of Directors • Must possess technology literacy skills • Experience working with national organizations with chapter or affiliate system preferred • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, DonorDrive, and Virtuous preferred • Uphold and exhibit AFSP's Core Values • Ability to hold yourself accountable • Ability to prioritize and coach volunteers based on National Strategic goals • Highly organized and detail oriented • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines • Diplomatic and able to communicate tactfully • Strong public speaking skills, virtually and in person • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings • Ability to work a full-time schedule and have regular attendance at the workplace • Ability to travel as needed to attend work meetings or events • Ability to work after regular business hours and on weekends when necessary • Must have mental stamina to be in contact with people who are grieving or in crisis • Must have a driver's license and/or ability to drive across assigned state(s) • Must be able to rent a vehicle on behalf of AFSP as needed • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
