📋 Description

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reliability issues within MANTL platform application code, including microservice communication failures and correctness issues under failure conditions • Address failure modes across third-party and internal system integrations and develop integration-specific resilience strategies • Design, configure, and maintain monitoring, dashboards, and alerting • Implement and extend distributed tracing across microservices • Diagnose and remediate application performance issues, including caching, inefficient code paths, and query performance • Harden platform and application components through fault-injection and resilience testing • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot GitHub Actions CI/CD build pipelines • Deploy and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads • Maintain a roadmap of known reliability risks independent of feature-delivery timelines • Create documentation and runbooks covering reliability issues, root causes, and remediations • Act as an escalation point for complex platform reliability issues • Contribute to defining SLOs and SLIs for key platform services

🎯 Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or a hybrid development/reliability engineering role • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience • Strong proficiency in TypeScript with production experience in a Node.js/TypeScript service environment • Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting containerized workloads in Kubernetes • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions preferred • Experience configuring monitoring, dashboards, and alerting in an APM/observability tool; Datadog preferred • Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and microservice communication failures across varied integration points and protocols • Experience with distributed tracing tools and practices • Working familiarity with relational databases and tuning slow or problematic queries • Experience diagnosing and resolving application performance issues • Experience designing for and testing failure modes, including fault injection and resilience/chaos-style testing • Experience implementing defensive patterns such as idempotency, retries, and circuit breakers • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Ability to work independently on ambiguous, reactive reliability problems • Ability to communicate technical root cause and remediation plans clearly to engineering and non-technical stakeholders • Experience with message brokers or event-streaming platforms such as Kafka preferred • Experience with OpenTelemetry or comparable distributed tracing frameworks preferred • Experience in a regulated or compliance-driven environment preferred • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform preferred • Experience partnering with infrastructure/SRE teams preferred • Must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment; employment sponsorship is not available
