📋 Description

• Design and build opinionated, secure cloud environments and platforms for Allstate. • Automate public cloud services by building continuous integration and delivery pipelines for infrastructure and application teams. • Partner with cloud platform consumers to align applications with standards and gather feedback to improve platforms. • Write and maintain Python applications that automate provisioning and management of cloud environments. • Build cloud environments and platforms aligned with business and security strategies and requirements. • Build standards, designs, and automation for deploying software in cloud environments. • Design cloud patterns and reusable infrastructure modules for AWS and Azure. • Troubleshoot complex cloud provisioning, security, and deployment issues. • Partner with application teams to promote cloud engineering best practices. • Lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers on cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code. • Work primarily in an Extreme Programming environment using a paired programming/engineering model. • Contribute to strategy and designs for continuous integration and continuous delivery frameworks and tools. • Define and develop new user-centric products and services providing functions-as-a-service.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Python development experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining production-grade cloud automation systems. • Extensive experience building cloud infrastructure solutions in AWS and/or Azure. • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles. • Hands-on experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar platforms. • Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines that provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure. • Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, security controls, compute, storage, and platform architecture. • Proven ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems across application, infrastructure, and cloud domains. • Experience developing reusable automation frameworks, APIs, libraries, and tooling such as boto3 and the Azure SDK. • Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, and drive adoption of cloud engineering best practices. • 4+ years of application development and infrastructure engineering experience. • Willingness and competence to produce necessary changes in infrastructure and processes. • Ability to work in diverse teams, multitask, and work under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targets. • Ability to work effectively across organizational and geographical boundaries. • Ability to identify creative solutions for technical challenges. • Ability to communicate and present ideas and solutions. • Must be willing to work in a paired programming/engineering model. • Must submit to a background investigation. • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position. • Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions with appropriate desk and seating. • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
