📋 Description

• Architect and design digital products using modern tools, technologies, frameworks, and systems • Apply scientific and technological knowledge to software design, implementation, testing, and documentation • Own and manage applications in production and be accountable for product success through KPIs • Plan, direct, design, and execute complex and critical IT-related activities and programs • Select, lead, counsel, motivate, set expectations for, and evaluate medium to large teams • Advise direct reports on administrative policies, risks, issues, problem resolution, sourcing decisions, budgets, and priorities • Participate in product scoping, discovery, framing, and inceptions with technical input • Translate user features into system designs and infuse backlogs with technical input • Lead standups, iteration planning meetings, retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing activities • Shape product architecture and design • Align strategy across product portfolios with product managers, peers, and stakeholders • Provide technical leadership, guide technology choices, solve technical problems, and resolve team conflicts • Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices • Contribute to the growth of the department's collective knowledge • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Familiarity developing software using TIBCO suite of tools, including BusinessWorks and Business Events • Hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering large-scale distributed systems and/or cloud applications, including microservices architectures and 12-factor principles • Experience developing software in different programming languages and ability to quickly learn new languages, preferably JavaScript, Java (Spring), and Python • Experience developing REST APIs, including Swagger, REST-docs, OpenAPI, versioning, service discovery/registration, testing, and management • Experience with web and API security, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML • Experience in backend development, including relational and NoSQL databases, caching, messaging, and big data development, implementation, and optimization • Advanced experience with distributed version control systems (Git), artifact management, build and packaging systems (Maven, Gradle, Artifactory), and continuous integration tools • Experience working in an eXtreme Programming (XP) or agile environment and paired programming/engineering model • Experience in Test Driven Development and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Protractor, and Cucumber • 4-year bachelor's degree (Preferred) • 10 years of experience in software development (Preferred) • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above education requirements • Ability to pass a background investigation • Must have a dedicated, private home workspace, appropriate desk and seating, and reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
