📋 Description

• Lead day-to-day development, implementation, and support of security controls across multiple product security engineering teams • Architect and design secure digital products using modern tools, technologies, frameworks, and systems • Apply scientific and technological knowledge to the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of secure software • Own and manage applications in production • Drive digital product success through KPIs, including security metrics • Advise others on complex security engineering matters • Translate security strategy into challenging and meaningful goals • Manage teams responsible for strategic and critical security architecture • Act as an authority in secure software best practices and propagate them across the organization • Influence stakeholders to drive adoption of security controls and practices • Design, implement, and productize security controls for complex business and technology challenges • Assess and provide security technology support to business and technical teams • Analyze end-to-end business and technology processes, focusing on security risks and mitigations • Evaluate system enhancements and upgrades and influence the security product roadmap • Identify and implement process improvements and product simplification opportunities in security operations • Provide technical or functional leadership for security engineering team members • Ensure industry and technology best practices are followed for secure development and operations

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in security engineering preferred • At least 3 years in a technical leadership or managerial role • Deep understanding of secure software development, vulnerability management, cloud security, application security, and modern security engineering practices • Experience with secure software configuration and development, including secure APIs, authentication/authorization, encryption, and threat modeling • Experience with modern security frameworks, tools, and methodologies, including DevSecOps, CI/CD security, and cloud-native security • Deep understanding of technology best practices in secure development and compliance • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD), Agile SCRUM methodologies, and secure SDLC • Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for continuous learning in security • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Background investigation required • Reliable internet required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload • Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, with appropriate desk and seating • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
