📋 Description

• Design highly scalable, mission-critical market data provider services • Maintain good software quality and test coverage • Participate in code reviews • Troubleshoot incidents and reported bugs • Help build and scale the systems and services underlying Alpaca's brokerage infrastructure • Improve the architecture connected to stocks, options, crypto, and foreign exchange data products • Oversee public API structure and documentation for streaming and historical endpoints • Plan, ideate, experiment, and productionize new services and libraries to address scaling challenges

🎯 Requirements

• BSc/MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field • Minimum 3 years of backend software development experience • Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes • DevOps mindset • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies • Experience building and architecting systems at scale • Deep understanding of POSIX-like operating systems, modern infrastructure, and orchestration practices • Nice-to-have: experience with large datasets • Nice-to-have: Kubernetes experience; CKA or CKAD certification is a plus • Nice-to-have: SQL experience • Nice-to-have: IP networking experience • Nice-to-have: understanding of financial markets • Nice-to-have: experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure • Nice-to-have: shell scripting, Linux, Docker, microservice architectures, and clean code principles
