📋 Description

• Provide direct operational and people leadership for the assigned team of coders and specialties • Lead, coach, and develop team members • Allocate work based on complexity, volume, specialty, and individual capacity • Support recruiting, onboarding, and competency validation • Establish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations • Address performance gaps through coaching and corrective action plans • Conduct operational reviews with direct reports • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex coding, documentation, payer, and account-level issues • Resolve escalated coding questions according to official coding guidelines and payer requirements • Track escalation trends and resolution times and implement coaching or workflow adjustments • Escalate systemic, high-risk, or unresolved issues to the Senior Medical Coding Manager • Oversee day-to-day coding operations and timely encounter completion • Monitor backlog levels and risks and provide data-backed recommendations • Maintain adherence to departmental policies, coding guidelines, and payer requirements • Oversee coding audits and corrective actions • Monitor coding-rule and documentation adherence • Maintain audit-ready processes and participate in compliance initiatives, education, and reporting • Monitor coding quality, productivity, and turnaround-time KPIs • Partner with Billing and Revenue Cycle teams to support clean claims and reduce coding-related denials • Identify reimbursement-impacting trends and implement improvements • Collaborate with providers, clinical leadership, Compliance, the Coding Director, and Coding Senior Manager • Prepare and document coding guidance, rules, and specialty nuances • Ensure coding LOA alignment and educate the authorizations team when needed • Drive team performance against accuracy, productivity, turnaround-time, escalation, audit, and denial KPIs

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in revenue cycle management, including physician collections, A/R follow-up, and denial management • Minimum of 3+ years in a leadership or management role • Strong understanding of billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and payer guidelines • Proven track record of driving revenue performance and improving operational outcomes • Experience managing client relationships in a healthcare or revenue cycle environment • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data insights into action • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and reporting tools • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Ability to influence, motivate, and develop high-performing teams • Strategic, results-driven, and revenue-focused mindset • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels
