📋 Description

• Build and test new ways of doing collaborative science with the Discourse Graphs team • Develop tools for researchers and coding agents to read and write claims and evidence • Build manuscript overlays showing claims and supporting evidence • Build knowledge bases from publications, notebooks and meeting notes • Put early versions in front of researchers and use their feedback to determine which ideas grow • Improve plugins so new users get useful results within minutes of installation • Turn promising ideas into prototypes and maintainable products • Make reversible technical decisions independently and discuss expensive decisions with the tech lead • Work with TypeScript, Supabase/Postgres, an MCP server and tldraw • Collaborate with a designer and product manager in a distributed, managerless team

🎯 Requirements

• Record of shipping user-facing products from early prototype to products people rely on • Fluency in TypeScript and a modern front-end stack • Comfort moving between the interface, data layer and APIs • Experience building with large language models, agent tools, MCP servers or retrieval over structured data • Habit of talking with users and working alongside designers and engineers • Experience with knowledge graphs, research software or a scientific field is helpful but not required • Availability for some overlap with North American working hours • Visa sponsorship may be required for FTE positions
