📋 Description

• Serve as the senior technical lead for customer engagements within Astronomer’s Services Delivery team • Work with project managers and engineers to help customers operationalize Airflow and Astro at scale • Lead architecture reviews, workshops, and technical design sessions with engineering teams and executive stakeholders • Design end-to-end platform architectures integrating Airflow with cloud infrastructure, compute frameworks, and data platforms • Review delivery work for scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence • Diagnose and resolve issues and guide customers through deployments, migrations, and platform modernization • Build reusable tools, frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices to improve delivery quality across the organization • Interact directly with engineers, architects, and executives to design data orchestration platforms on Astro • Build prototypes to validate designs

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture • Airflow expertise authoring and deploying DAGs to production, monitoring execution, and troubleshooting failures • Experience tuning Airflow performance, refactoring DAG code, right-sizing infrastructure, and implementing data quality checks and alerts • Proven experience guiding customers through platform deployments, migrations, or technical transformations • Experience managing scope, timelines, and stakeholder conflicts • Strong background designing cloud-native data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP • Familiarity with enterprise networking, security, and identity patterns • Programming experience in Python and SQL • Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, or Redshift • Experience leading architecture discussions and driving technical decisions with engineering leaders and executive stakeholders • Strong communication and documentation skills • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready architectures • Must be authorized to work in the United States
