📋 Description

• Participate in network planning, engineering, and architecture processes • Produce and maintain technical and procedural documentation • Provide second- or third-level support for incidents and service requests • Deploy and configure network devices based on provided designs and standards • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot problems and outages, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with network architects on optimization • Establish and enforce network security policies • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues • Maintain high availability through redundancy, failover configurations, and proactive maintenance • Coordinate activities among multiple groups to ensure 99.999% organizational uptime • Provide on-call technical support after hours and on weekends as needed • Document network designs, policies, and system configurations • Lead network-related projects from concept through deployment, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend network improvements • Implement and enforce security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption standards • Monitor vulnerabilities and apply patches, updates, or changes to mitigate risks • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards • Manage and work with other Managed Service Providers such as Lumen Versa

🎯 Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of security requirements for deploying voice solutions in the field • Experience configuring Cisco Routers, Switches, SDWAN, and VXLAN in a voice environment • Knowledge of NG911 topology and associated equipment • In-depth knowledge and experience with Cisco SD-WAN, Versa, Cisco ISR and ASR Routing platforms, Cisco Nexus 9K Switching, Cisco Catalyst Switching, Cisco NG Firewalls, Cisco ASA Firewalls, and VXLAN in IPv4 and IPv6 environments • Experience with virtualized networks, including VMware, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure Cloud Platform • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues • Ability to ensure high availability through redundancy, failover configurations, and proactive maintenance • Ability to coordinate activities among multiple groups to ensure 99.999% uptime • Ability to provide on-call technical support after hours and on weekends as needed • Ability to work as part of a distributed team • Ability to participate in on-call schedules and work outside normal business hours during planned maintenance windows • Knowledge of network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption standards • Knowledge of vulnerability monitoring, patching, updates, and risk mitigation • Understanding of NIST, CIS, or NENA security standards • Experience managing and working with Managed Service Providers such as Lumen Versa • Clear and effective oral and written English communication skills • Excellent email and telephone etiquette • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in network engineering, implementing, and maintaining geographically dispersed networks • 5+ years of network security experience, including firewalls, security tools, and threat mitigation • Ability to advance technologies, processes, and practices in the area of specialization • Cisco CCNP, CCIE, Security and/or SDWAN certification or equivalent experience (desirable) • Azure, GCP and/or VMware certification (desirable) • NG 9-1-1 networking or carrier-grade voice networking experience (desirable)
