📋 Description

• Lead four engineering value streams — Banking Core Integration, Business Banking, Vendor Integration, and Account Acquisition — owning delivery, velocity, and technical excellence • Manage and develop engineering managers, tech leads, and a Principal Engineer • Provide hands-on technical leadership in solution design, architectural reviews, production incident management, and complex troubleshooting • Partner with the VP of Platform Engineering on AI coding adoption, release coordination, architectural standards, and DevOps • Drive quarterly engineering OKRs focused on AI productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity • Participate in senior leadership with the COO, VP of Platform Engineering, and product leadership • Design and implement the engineering quality framework across all eight value streams • Own a multi-platform automation framework covering Angular, Swift, and Kotlin • Define and enforce quality gates, release criteria, automated coverage thresholds, defect standards, and QE sign-off • Lead and develop a QA organization of eight manual QA engineers and two dedicated automation QA engineers • Establish test data management, environment parity standards, and CI/CD quality integration • Build a quality dashboard tracking automation coverage, open defects, and regression completion rates • Partner with the Release Manager on mid-cycle readiness reviews and formal go/no-go decisions • Work with Technical Support to connect production issues with engineering prioritization • Own post-release retrospectives for client-impacting releases and drive process changes • Partner with product leadership on scope freeze discipline and QE involvement in sprint planning and story grooming • Champion AI-assisted coding and AI-assisted QA across the four value streams

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience • At least 4 years in engineering leadership managing engineering managers and senior individual contributors • Deep quality engineering background with personally built or rebuilt automation frameworks • Experience migrating automation frameworks in multi-platform web and native mobile environments • Success shifting manual-heavy QA to automation-first quality in fintech, banking, or similarly regulated environments • Experience implementing release gates and enforcing go/no-go decisions under schedule pressure • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Maestro, or equivalent • Familiarity with Angular, Swift, and Kotlin environments is a strong advantage • Experience driving AI coding tool adoption across engineering teams • Technical depth in solution design, architecture, production incident response, root-cause analysis, and complex debugging • Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution • Cross-functional experience with technical support, release management, and product • Excellent communication and organizational influence skills • Experience in fintech, core banking, or digital banking platforms is nice to have • Familiarity with credit union or community bank client environments is nice to have • Experience with SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, or similar regulatory compliance contexts is nice to have • Experience managing QA teams through a transition from manual QA to quality engineering roles is nice to have
