📋 Description

• Support and enhance applications for premium billing, receipts processing, ACH drafting, claims recovery, delinquency management, COBRA administration, and self-funded billing operations • Contribute to new development, enhancements to existing applications, production support, lifecycle upgrades, and modernization efforts • Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding • Design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems • Devise or modify application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts • Serve as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead on small to medium efforts, or manage phases of medium to large efforts • Maintain technical skills for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks • Respond to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence • Provide guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers • Participate in a required on-call rotation • Attend final-round interviews on-site at the Chattanooga, Tennessee office

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required • 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards • 3 years of systems and programming experience • 1 year of expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST • Proven information technology skills in use at BCBST • Proven analysis, design, and coding skills • Demonstrated success leading large and complex projects • Ability to interpret and translate technical and/or complex concepts for project team members and business personnel • 2+ years of working experience with .NET and/or C# required • Must communicate effectively with technical and non-technical co-workers • Strong C# and SQL development experience • Experience supporting enterprise business applications throughout the software development lifecycle • Ability to troubleshoot, enhance, and maintain business-critical applications in production • Sponsorship is not available for this role • Preferred: healthcare or health insurance industry experience • Preferred: billing, payment processing, or payer-related systems experience • Preferred: SQL Server and Google BigQuery • Preferred: MVC web application development • Preferred: Agile framework experience • Preferred: AIX or COBOL exposure • Preferred: BCBST experience, financial experience, and web development experience
