📋 Description

• Lead implementation of complex data ingestion pipelines using PySpark, Databricks Intelligence Platform, AWS services, and Kafka/streaming architectures • Implement schema evolution and Delta Share while ensuring enterprise architecture alignment • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers • Represent data engineering in cross-functional discussions • Apply code quality, testing, CI/CD, and Terraform infrastructure-as-code standards • Author and maintain architectural documentation, technical decision records, and platform runbooks • Guide optimization across data ingestion, transformation, and storage layers • Troubleshoot complex pipeline failures across multi-system dependencies • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, DevOps engineers, and client teams to deliver integrated solutions • Perform other relevant duties as qualified and trained

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering • Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional engineering initiatives • Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks at scale • Hands-on experience with Databricks Intelligence Platform, including Notebooks, Lakeflow Jobs, Unity Catalog, and Delta Share • Experience with AWS services such as S3 and IAM roles and policies • Strong knowledge of data pipeline design and implementation, data transformation, data modeling, data storage optimization, and data security best practices • Proficiency with Git and version control systems • Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools • Experience working in Linux environments, including remotely accessing containers, installing packages, and managing files, services, and processes • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases, query authoring, and a variety of databases • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; Bixal does not sponsor employment visas • Nice to have: Apache Hive, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, federal consulting, Databricks certifications, QuickSight, or Power BI experience
