• Lead a team of Safety Professionals across large-scale or complex projects • Plan, implement, and oversee site safety initiatives • Direct application of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures • Monitor unsafe behavior, ensure corrective action, and escalate serious issues • Interpret and implement advanced safety programs such as the Capacity Model • Lead or oversee incident investigations and resolve compliance issues • Coach and mentor safety personnel, site teams, and subcontractors • Oversee Drug and Alcohol Testing, Medical Treatment, and Return-to-Work programs • Direct audits, review findings, and ensure corrective actions are documented • Conduct HSE risk assessments and develop Risk Assessment Matrices • Provide guidance on safety processes and communicate site-specific issues to leadership • Develop and oversee site-specific communications plans • Facilitate safety presentations during site, owner, and corporate kickoffs • Lead startup activities including Emergency Response planning, signage deployment, and site orientation • Direct execution of Emergency Response Plans • Oversee collection and analysis of safety data • Prepare and review complex documents and Serious Event Reports • Promote continuous development through training, coaching, feedback, and external accreditation • Spend approximately 75% of work time in the field conducting assessments and interacting with crews and subcontractors
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or health; or equivalent combination of training and/or experience • Recognized certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) preferred • 4 or more years of progressive construction safety experience • Previous leadership experience preferred • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR) • Able to relocate to the community of the project site • Preferably electrical safety, crane safety, and structural knowledge • Effective oral, presentational, and written communication skills • Ability to present information confidently to large groups • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks while directing team activities • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills; able to coach and motivate professional-level employees • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Visio preferred • Capable of leveraging data for safety performance improvements • Strong business acumen
