📋 Description

• Provide strategic consultation to business customers on business processes, functions, organizational structures, and enabling technologies • Facilitate development of complex enterprise business solutions • Lead enterprise strategy development, environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases, and business innovation portfolio development • Specify and design complex systems, solutions, networks, infrastructure elements, and processes • Select design standards, methods, tools, and architecture components • Lead system design reviews and ensure technology integration and resource efficiency • Evaluate complex design options and balance functional, service quality, and systems management requirements • Develop architectures, component requirements, specifications, and implementation designs • Advise on system development, integration, change requests, deviations, and technical processes • Establish and communicate functional and non-functional requirements • Lead significant improvement programs and deliver measurable business benefits • Resolve complex architecture and business problems and lead highly complex project initiatives • Manage expectations of customers, partners, and management • Participate in customer, design, technical, and problem-resolution walkthroughs • Collaborate with departments across the organization on complex requirements • Provide expert technical advice on information and communication technology applications • Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and ad-hoc training to peers, developers, management, and business users • Prepare and present technical presentations aligned with Highmark’s strategic direction • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or closely related field • 7 years in an IT discipline • 7 years in a Business discipline • Architectural expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-native patterns • Experience designing complex schemas for structured and unstructured data • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible • Expert knowledge of AWS/SageMaker, Azure/Azure ML, or GCP/Vertex AI • Mastery of the AI lifecycle, including PyTorch/TensorFlow, Kubeflow, MLflow, or BentoML • Expert understanding of Generative AI, Transformer architectures, RAG, and fine-tuning methodologies • Experience in enterprise integration and migrating legacy systems to AI-augmented workflows • Ability to mentor senior engineers and present architectural decisions to the C-suite • Strategic thinking and ability to anticipate 12–24 months ahead in AI trends • Cloud cost management skills for GPU/TPU resources • Exceptional communication skills, architectural documentation, and technical design review leadership • Required compliance with HIPAA, company privacy and security policies, Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, and training requirements • Travel required • Preferred health insurance industry business knowledge • Preferred industry certifications such as Java Developer, DB2, Cognos, PEGA, Enterprise Architect (SCEA), or Project Management
