📋 Description

• Work closely with the Sales team to uncover customers’ underlying goals and challenges • Build solution visions that solve business problems and guide account teams and internal resources • Own the technical narrative for enterprise deals, including architecture discussions, security and governance reviews, and executive readouts • Communicate technical and business concepts to GIS practitioners, data practitioners, and executive buyers • Turn requirements into functional scopes and commercial proposals for the platform and professional services • Build proofs of concept using CARTO Workflows, AI Agents inside Builder maps, and small applications with deck.gl • Run customer discovery sessions and hands-on onsite workshops • Represent CARTO at conferences, industry events, and partner events • Help customers transition from traditional GIS to CARTO’s cloud data warehouse platform • Position CARTO in competitive procurements and RFPs • Share field insights with Product and the Solutions Engineering team • Participate in business development to grow the territory • Travel one to two times a month for customer onsites, workshops, and industry events, with occasional trips to Europe for company and team gatherings

🎯 Requirements

• 5 or more years in a customer-facing technical role, presales, GIS consultancy, or spatial data science, including a track record on enterprise deals • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud data warehouse: BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift, or Oracle • Comfort discussing how cloud data warehouses are secured, governed, and billed • SQL and Python in daily work • Enough JavaScript to put a working front end in front of a customer • Familiarity with PostGIS, REST APIs, and spatial indexes such as H3 is a plus • Ability to use AI chat and coding agents and speak credibly about LLM-based agents, guardrails, and auditability • Familiarity with Esri, ArcGIS, or similar traditional GIS platforms • Experience supporting US enterprise or public sector buyers and understanding how they evaluate, procure, and secure new technology • Willingness to travel regularly across the US and occasionally to Europe • Collaborative style suitable for autonomy in a flexible, fast-moving environment • Optimistic, curious, smart, and eager to learn
