Cassi is a coordination system and operating system for residential property management. It centralizes tasks, routines, team members (office, field, and vendors), and calendar scheduling across homes, pulling in property-specific knowledge (service history, owner preferences, warranties, vendor relationships) to auto-draft job cards, anticipate recurring maintenance, surface suggested tasks and reports, and manage capacity and assignments. The product emphasizes a per-home knowledge base that learns from walkthroughs and historical activity to automate scheduling and recommendations. Cassi targets property managers and teams managing multiple residential homes.

📋 Description

• Embed with operating companies or partners to understand their operations and build software that fits their workflows • Take new operating companies or partners from signed agreement to running deployment • Map organizations, properties, people, and existing systems onto Cassi • Own rollouts end to end, including periods when old and new processes run in parallel • Connect Cassi with accounting, property-management, IoT, and service-provider systems • Own connectors, data mappings, backfills, reconciliations, and data-integrity validation • Build integrations, data pipelines, and bespoke automations using Cassi's APIs and event-driven spine • Create partner-specific reports and workflows not covered by the core product • Distinguish one-off needs from recurring platform gaps and recommend graduating patterns into the core product • Debug issues across Cassi and customer systems and respond to incidents affecting live operations • Use feature gates to separate deployment from release • Define the forward-deployed engineering function and eventually build the team behind it

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • TypeScript / Node fluency, including Node/Fastify, branded types, and strict mode • Experience building integrations with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication flows, ETL paths, backfills, and data reconciliation • Familiarity with AWS and event-driven systems, including queues, pub/sub, asynchronous processing, and distributed-system failure modes • Database fluency with DynamoDB and PostgreSQL • Ability to work directly with nontechnical operators, translate vague problems into concrete builds, scope work, manage expectations, and ship solutions • Ability to move solutions from concept to production quickly while handling errors, failure modes, and testing • Comfort with ambiguity, end-to-end ownership, and accountability for outcomes • Strong team-player and strategic-partner capabilities • Ability to build trust with customers and communicate project scope without overpromising • Highly self-motivated with end-to-end project ownership • Ability to write thorough, scalable, and clear documentation • Attention to detail when reviewing AI-generated content • Inquisitive approach to investigating inconsistencies and pinpointing issues • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate experience • Cover letter must say "hello cassi!"
