📋 Description

• Refactor, optimize, and decompose complex SQL Server stored procedures into smaller, testable, documented units • Tune queries, develop indexing strategies, analyze execution plans, and optimize data access patterns • Design backward-compatible schema changes with safe rollout and rollback patterns • Create facades, wrappers, and anti-corruption layers to enable gradual extraction of business logic into services • Refactor .NET Framework code into maintainable, testable, domain-aligned modules and services • Implement strangler fig patterns while maintaining production stability • Establish dependency injection, observability, and error-handling patterns in established .NET codebases • Implement performance baselines, regression detection, and alerting for data-intensive workflows • Participate in incident response for data and performance-related production issues • Create diagnostic tooling and runbooks to reduce time-to-resolution • Collaborate with SRE/DevOps on deployment safety, including blue/green deployments, feature flags, and canary releases • Contribute to modernization of the system-of-record platform supporting internal and external claims management experiences

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience in object-oriented languages • C#/.NET required • Expert-level SQL Server knowledge, specifically SQL Server 2019 • Advanced query optimization, execution plan analysis, index tuning, and query hints • Stored procedure, function, and trigger development and refactoring • Database design and normalization • Performance tuning at scale across multi-million-row tables, complex joins, and aggregations • Knowledge of clustered, non-clustered, filtered, and columnstore indexing strategies • SQL Agent jobs and automated workflow patterns • Understanding of transaction isolation levels, locking, and concurrency management • C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core experience • Experience refactoring established systems while maintaining production stability • SQL source control, including migrations and version control for schemas and stored procedures • Experience with strangler fig, anti-corruption layer, or facade patterns highly desired • Production experience migrating logic from stored procedures to a service layer highly desired • Familiarity with domain-driven design concepts highly desired • Azure SQL Database and Azure DevOps experience highly desired • Familiarity with Application Insights and SQL Profiler highly desired • REST, OpenAPI/Swagger, xUnit, NUnit, PowerShell, microservices, event-driven patterns, Entity Framework Core, or Dapper experience highly desired • Video interview required; candidates may not use generative AI or automated assistance during interviews unless explicitly permitted
