📋 Description

• Establish technical direction for the Air Force Data Mesh Environment • Deliver secure backend services and responsive user interfaces for discovering and accessing distributed, governed data • Design architecture, prototype core capabilities, and sustain the platform in support of the Cloud One mission • Define and maintain technical standards, architecture guidance, and deployment practices • Translate business needs and Figma designs into technical specifications, architecture diagrams, data models, and API specifications • Evaluate technologies and engineering tools, including AI-assisted tools where appropriate, and recommend improvements • Build secure, high-performance backend services and intuitive, responsive user interfaces • Implement React, Node.js, and Next.js solutions • Design and integrate services and API gateways using REST and suitable monolithic or microservices patterns in a cloud computing environment • Support identity and access management, enterprise metadata, distributed data products, and streaming data pipelines • Review code, troubleshoot complex full-stack problems, and improve quality, security, and engineering practices • Mentor junior engineers • Participate in design reviews, critiques, and planning discussions with UX, product, engineering, and mission stakeholders • Explain architecture and technical decisions to technical and nontechnical audiences

🎯 Requirements

• US Citizen • Ability to obtain a US DoW Secret clearance • At least eight years of practical software development experience • Deep technical expertise and successful delivery of complex applications • Experience with API gateways and cloud-based transactional, interactive, or data-intensive systems • Strong understanding of REST, microservices, and monolithic service design patterns • Demonstrated proficiency with React, Node.js, and Next.js • Experience implementing Figma designs as accurate user interfaces • Strong problem-solving and sound judgment about business needs • Effective presentation and interpersonal communication skills • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent deep professional experience is fully considered • Experience integrating AI or ML models, including large language models, into web applications is preferred • Experience guiding a team in appropriate use of AI-assisted software engineering tools is preferred • Current Secret security clearance is preferred
