📋 Description

• Learn applications to provide appropriate support and maintenance • Receive business requirements and ensure understanding for coding • Participate in Scrum, Kanban, and stand-up meetings • Apply development standards when planning and executing coding tasks • Provide input for project planning and target dates • Manage time and workload to meet deadlines • Review designs and code with team members before code promotion • Work with the technical architect to create and update documentation • Maintain communication, transparency, traceability, and best practices • Collaborate with the team lead and Assistant Vice President of IT Financial Systems, communicating appropriately and escalating when needed • Monitor production environment performance with experts and implement improvements, from small fixes to architectural changes • Help manage non-production environments • Ensure internal controls and change controls are followed, with evidence available • Expand technical skills through internal and external training • Assist with applications supported by IT Financial Systems and their interfaces

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • 2–6+ years of experience working as a Data Developer or Engineer • Experience with SQL Server and related tools, including SQL queries, SSIS, and SSRS • Experience with source version control tools such as Stash, Git, or Bitbucket • Basic foundation in data integrity, governance, architecture, extraction, manipulation, storage, and mining • Experience with job schedulers such as SQL Server Agent or Autosys • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD, and related tools • Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications • Understanding of financial concepts such as accounts payable and general ledger • Understanding of basic SDLC and project management principles • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools • Strong analytical skills • Solid time management and ability to be proactive and self-directed • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to analyze system functionality and data flow to troubleshoot production issues • Ability to research and analyze business, system, and process issues • Ability to handle changing priorities • Understanding of vendor-based applications and APIs • Understanding of performance monitoring, tuning, and improvement • Ability to assess and prioritize feature requests based on effort and value • Ability to develop and execute unit testing based on tickets and acceptance criteria • Small amount of travel to New Jersey as needed • Preferred but not required: C#, VB, .NET, UiPath, Python, XML, JSON, Azure Technologies • Desired but not required: insurance industry knowledge; data warehouses or data marts; additional DBMSs; BI tools; ETL tools; Agile, Scrum, or Kanban; Jira and Confluence; working across multiple time zones; working with employees and contractors
