📋 Description

• Support accurate, complete, and consistent coding practices for quality healthcare data • Code complex inpatient cases using ICD-9/ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes • Strive for optimal reimbursement • Float to different coding areas as needed • Work independently and resolve coding problems effectively • Adapt to changes in policies and procedures for healthcare data requirements

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of medical record coding experience preferred • Inpatient facility coding experience in an acute care hospital preferred • Knowledge of DRG assignment and reimbursement regulations in an acute care environment preferred • Experience coding through an encoder required • Proficiency with Windows-based applications required • Pediatric coding experience preferred • Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT classification systems • Knowledge of the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to adapt to frequent policy and procedure changes • Ability to maintain accuracy, work independently, and resolve problems effectively • High school graduate, GED, or HSED required • One of CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification listed; CCS is preferred
