📋 Description

• Support accurate, complete, and consistent inpatient facility coding practices • Code complex inpatient cases using ICD-9/ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes • Strive for optimal reimbursement • Provide coding support across different coding areas as needed • Facilitate communication with medical staff, peers, management, and hospital personnel • Adapt to changes in policies and procedures for healthcare data requirements • Maintain accuracy, work independently, and resolve problems effectively

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years medical record coding experience • Inpatient coding facility experience in an acute care hospital preferred • Knowledge of DRG assignment and reimbursement regulations in an acute care environment preferred • Experience coding through an encoder required • Proficiency with Windows-based applications required • Pediatric coding experience preferred • One of the following required: CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) • Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT classification systems • Knowledge of the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting • High School graduate, GED, or HSED required • Ability to work Monday–Friday between 5:00 am and 5:00 pm CST
